Bite-size ready to eat air-dried beef stix, using the same process as biltong.
Biltong is cured and air-dried beef that originated when the Dutch settlers who arrived in South Africa in the 17th century, needed a way to preserve meat in the new colony. Desiccation of the raw meat meant it was preserved from decay and insects within a day or two, and within a fortnight would be rock-hard after it had fully cured.
Today we use climate-controlled dry rooms specially designed for a faster drying process still meeting Australia’s strict food safety and health standards, providing our customers with the finest quality beef biltong.
