Our Mate 125g Jar

Our Mate is a sticky, dark brown paste with a distinctive, powerful flavour, which is extremely salty and savoury with umami qualities, somewhat comparable to soy sauce, made from yeast extract, a by-product of beer brewing and is suitable for vegetarians and vegans. It is similar to the Australian Vegemite. Our mate, formerly known as “Marmite”, a British version produced in the United Kingdom and South Africa, has a noticeably different taste from the product manufactured in New Zealand, owned by Sanitarium who obtained sole rights to distribute the product in New Zealand and Australia.
